Laura Badertscher

Lives and works in Zurich

Badertscher moved to Australia in 2010 and began her art education in 2013 at the National Art School in Sydney. In 2014, she participated in an exchange program, spending a semester at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) before returning to Australia to complete her BFA in Painting. She earned her Master of Fine Arts at the National Art School, Sydney, in 2018. At the start of 2019, after nearly a decade living in the land Down Under, she returned to Zurich and established her studio.

In 2019, Badertscher was a finalist in the Naked & Nude Art Prize Exhibition at Manning Regional Art Gallery in Taree, Australia, and participated in several group exhibitions in Sydney and Europe. In 2021, she received a grant from the Fondazione Silene Giannini, and the Historisches Museum Baden acquired one of her works for its permanent collection.

In 2023, she exhibited at Art Market Budapest, an international contemporary art fair in the capital city of Hungary, and the WHATZ International Contemporary Art Fair with a-space gallery. She also took part in the ReA! Art Fair in Milan, Italy, and held her first solo exhibition in Switzerland at Kabinett Visarte Zürich.

This year, Badertscher has been featured in several exhibitions, including an exhibition with Radi Kahlo at MATERIAL in Zurich, a group exhibition during Zurich Art Weekend at Sihlquai 253, and another at Villa de Sein, Zurich. Additionally, she participated in VISARTE’s end-of-year show at Kupper Modern, Zurich.
